A data breach is when personal information is lost, or accessed or disclosed without authorisation, such as a misdirected email, a lost laptop or a hacked account.
Report a suspected breach to your manager or privacy contact straight away, even if you are not sure. Speed limits harm.
Under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, many organisations must assess breaches quickly and notify affected people and the OAIC when serious harm is likely. Your role is to report, not decide.

Frequently asked questions
Is this an accredited qualification?
No. Certificates record self-directed learning with an 80% pass mark. They are not identity checks or proof of workplace compliance.
Can I retry a quiz?
Yes. Review the explanations and start another attempt. Previously issued certificates stay in your learning record.
Can someone verify a certificate online?
The unique reference identifies your local record. NovaSoft does not keep a public verification register.
